Descripción de la Oferta

Payroll Assistant– Develops, maintains, administers, processes and audits the payroll/ accounting function.

Essential Duties & Frequency Performed

1. Collects and inputs all data used in payroll processing, including bonuses, referrals, terminations, LOA, FMLA and PTO.
2. Calculates pre and post-payroll balances.
3. Processes garnishments and levies, ensuring data is input accurately, proper parties are involved in communication, and appropriate records are maintained.
4. Upon supervisor request, assists management with the use, functionality, and data integrity of time clock.
5. Creates, cancels and reissues manual checks. Stops payment or reversals of live checks or direct deposits.
6. Maintains employee payroll files. Sends hard copies of employee records to outsourced archival vendor.
7. Audits records and data entries.
8. Analyzes and evaluates office operations and procedures. Recommends workflow efficiency improvements.
9. Organize and prepare local financials.
10. Handle statutory books.
11. Attends monthly payroll meetings.
12 . Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Fluent in speaking and writing English.
• Solid knowledge of automated payroll systems, preferably ADP and Reportsmith.
• Solid knowledge of federal, provincial and state laws regarding payroll & accounting issues.
• Strong organizational skills. Need to be able to prioritize in a fast paced environment, meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
• Must be detail-oriented and understand data management process to ensure accuracy.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality by exercising tact and maturity in sensitive situations.
• Solid ability to exercise initiative and judgment within the scope of assigned authority.
• Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
